Child Labour
According to the International Labour Organization, around 12.9 million Indian children in the 7-17 age group are employed or doing unpaid work. It is estimated that around 170 million or 40 per cent of India's children are vulnerable to or experiencing difficult circumstances. A new report by UNICEF and ILO warns that globally, 9 million additional children are at risk of being pushed into child labor by the end of 2022 as a result of the pandemic. The neglect of child protection issues results in outright violation of the rights of the children and increases their vulnerability to abuse, neglect and exploitation. The child labour problem is not unique to India; The presence of a large number of child laborers is regarded as a serious issue in terms of economic welfare. Children who work fail to get necessary education. They do not get the opportunity to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and psychologically. In terms of the physical condition of children, children are not ready for long monotonous work because they become exhausted more quickly than adults. This reduces their physical conditions and makes the children more vulnerable to disease. By educating the parents and communities that a child belongs to school and not to fields and factories.
We run different programmes at the ground-level to eradicate child labour like educating the communities, increasing enrolment rates and improving education quality, Rehabilitation and counseling of former child labourers and sending them to school. We run campaigns, scattering awareness, generate donations for the child so that they can get proper education. We work to empower the most marginalized communities in both urban areas and its remotest corners. We provide quality education and healthcare, protection from harm and abuse and life-saving aid during emergencies to children. It also engages with the government to drive policy change in the interests of children. We encourage involvement of social workers, community volunteers, peer educators, students and others to provide opportunity to people with skills and time to mentor, guide and improve the quality of life of these children.
Encourage Youth for Voting
In a democratic country like India, it becomes all the more important for the young people to know their rights and duties well and also to participate in the democratic process. Conducting seminars in collages and educational institutes to educate the youth about “the importance of his one vote”. By advertising, public service announcements, a range of social media campaigns and imaginative activities it helps us to educate them about the importance of the electoral process and their own role in strengthening democracy. We continuously working towards youth empowerment and democratic governance by supporting them and educating them about their democratic rights and freedom. One unforgettable lesson has been learnt - that youth are the strength of the country so if things go well with youth, the nation prospers, when youth falter, the nation fails. As a nation, we can make no more important investment. Today young men and women will have to carry a staggering burden. One of the most important contribution of our organization is to build capability towards acquiring employability skills and Entrepreneurship skills.
